Welcome to the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery

Approximately 30 - 40% of women will develop a pelvic floor disorder  in their lifetime, but many do not seek help. They may be too uncomfortable talking about their symptoms, think it is just a normal part of aging, assume these kinds of problems cannot be corrected, or just are not sure what kind of specialist to see.

The good news is many women have regained control thanks to R. Keith Huffaker, MD, MBA, FACOG, FPMRS of the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Our fellowship-trained board-certified urogynecologist, specially trained nurse practitioner and urogynecology nurse coordinator are sensitive to the embarrassment many women feel and are highly specialized, working together to offer new treatments and techniques, including non-invasive options and minimally invasive surgery, to help women find relief.

Dr. Huffaker works with other specialists, such as colon and rectal surgeons, urologists and physical therapists to offer a comprehensive approach to your care. This is a benefit to our patients because various pelvic floor issues often coexist. For example, patients who have pelvic organ prolapse often experience issues with incontinence, and vice versa. In most cases, Dr. Huffaker will manage multiple problems, but at times will work with other specialists in a collaborative manner.
